Clarence A. Burton, Jr. was born September 5, 1942 in Elizabeth City, (Pasquotank County) NC to the late Virginia E. Riddick-Burton and the late Clarence A. Burton. He passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones in his home. Clarence was a graduate of P.W. Moore High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and honorably served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Agere for over 40 years before retiring. Clarence was God’s faithful servant within the Union Baptist Church, where he held several positions over the years, including Finance Officer, Male Chorus member, Mass Choir member and Chair of the CPMSA. A family man at heart, Clarence leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, devotion and strength, cherished by all who knew him.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Erin A. (Boyle) Burton; sons, Jermaine Burton-Day of Allentown PA, Rodney Burton-Day and wife Danielle of Schnecksville PA, Ethan Burton of Bethlehem PA; daughters, Chantel Burton of Bethlehem PA, Tanya Burton of Durham NC, Tiffany Burton and Remy Burton both of Allentown PA; brothers, Kelvin K. Burton (Ossie) of Orlando FL, Dexter A. Burton (Connie) of Slatington PA, Gerald A. Burton (Kathy) of Bethlehem PA, Clifford K. Burton (Mary) of Vidalia GA, Glyndell E. Burton (Cheri) of Upper Marlboro MD, Richard P. Burton (Brenda) of Jacksonville FL; sisters, Virginia Newburgh of Sumter SC, Pearlie Hardy (Larry) of Tarpon Springs, FL. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 36 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his son, David Jones; brothers, Roger Riddick, Victor Burton; sister Beverly Burton- Culzac and his beloved Aunt Rosa Hines.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Union Baptist Church, 302 N. 6th St, Allentown. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the church.
