William Lewis Yarnall

William Lewis Yarnall, 94, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at home. He was the husband of Margaret Elizabeth (Hall) Yarnall to whom he was married nearly 21 years. His first wife Betty June (Kidd) Yarnall, passed away July 26, 1994. Born January 2, 1927 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Lewis C. and Irma (Geisinger) Yarnall. Bill served his country during WWII, stationed in Japan, he returned to Smith & Pieffly as an auto mechanic. Shortly thereafter, he went to work for Mack Trucks for 30 years as their Quality Control Supervisor, retiring in 1986. Shortly after retiring, he returned to Mack Trucks as a consultant, continuing with Mack Trucks another 3 years. Proudly he joined the Mack Trucks Ambassadors group giving tours of the plant for 26 years. Bill truly was a “Mack Man”! He was a very faithful and active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he taught Men’s Sunday School class and served on church council and finance committee. Becoming a member of the Masonic Lodge #673, Allentown he continued for 53 years. He was very proud of this two sons and grandson who became Masons. A member of the Mack Trucks Retirees Management Organization, Bill served as Chaplain for 20 years, and was a member of the Travelers Protective Association for 50 years. Survivors: wife Margaret, children, Kurt and his wife Mary Ann of Emmaus, Cheryl of Allentown, Kevin of Whitehall; step children Keith Evans and his wife Eileen of AZ, Mary Evans-Shields and her husband Dr. David Shields of Bethlehem; grandchildren Laura Yarnall, Brenda Yarnall, Jake Yarnall; step grandchildren Leah Shields, Christopher Haff, Scott Haff; great grandchildren, Justin Ortiz, Bethany Ortiz, Fiona Lineburg, brother Donald E. and his wife Bernice of Macungie and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service: Noon, Wednesday, February 24 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown. Calling will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors to follow at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall.
