Roger J. Wiesner

Roger J. Wiesner, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28th, 2023 in his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the loving husband of Joann V. (Trobetsky) Wiesner sharing 58 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Hazel (Diehl) Wiesner. Roger was a graduate of William Allen High School, class of 1958. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Roger worked as an electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Union #375 working various assignments throughout the Lehigh Valley, until retiring at age 62. Roger met his wife Joann shortly after he returned from Korea and they were together forever after. Roger enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer playing in yearly leagues with friends he acquired throughout his life. He and his wife Joann enjoyed traveling, taking a great number of trips across the entire United States, especially after they both retired. During their retirement they would travel nearly every March to Bradenton, Florida to relax, bike, and enjoy the beach views, welcoming sun, and company of family members who live there. Roger was a diehard sports fan of Phillies baseball, and both Eagles and Penn State football, even when their performance faltered. He was content with simple pleasures in life such as tending a garden, having a few beers with friends, relaxing on his deck, and going on family picnics. Roger enjoyed spending special moments with his grandchildren during his retirement years. He will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and family and will be missed by all who knew him. Roger is survived by his wife Joann Wiesner (Trobetsky) of Whitehall, daughter Karen Wiesner and partner Scott Strupe of Dover, Delaware, daughter Lori Kruus (Wiesner) and husband Peter Kruus of Clarksville, Maryland, son Brian Wiesner and partner Allan Pinto of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and daughter Jennifer Loefgren (Wiesner) and husband Michael Loefgren of Bradenton, Florida. He also leaves behind six grandchildren including Kirsten, Nicholas, Justin, Emily, Hannah, and Abigail, as well as his sisters Patricia Roth (Wiesner) of Allentown and Sally Neubauer (Wiesner) of Bethlehem. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Rudolph and Hazel Wiesner, and sisters Nancy Miller (Wiesner), Mary Kukitz (Wiesner) and brothers Joseph Wiesner and Gary Wiesner. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 5th, 2023 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland Street, Allentown, PA 18102 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
