John G. Guignet Sr.

John G. Guignet, Sr., 98, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Monday May 18, 2026, with his family by his side. John is survived by his loving wife Elsie (Toth) Guignet of over 75 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul and Eunice (Dudding) Guignet. John was a proud World War II and Korean War veteran serving in the US Navy. He worked for many years as a supervisor for UGI. John loved all things sports, especially the Eagles, Phillies and Penn State Football. John was a coach for many years teaching countless young minds the game of baseball and basketball. He belonged to the American Legion Post 596 and VFW Post 2124 along with various fire companies in the Lehigh Valley, Mountainville Memorial and Dieruff High School Band Parents. John enjoyed spending summers with his family at their beach house in Rehoboth Beach for over 30 years. His sons and grandchildren were his life. Above all, John and Elsie loved spending time with their family and never missed any of their events. He held several positions besides coaching with several of the youth organizations. John was actively involved with many church activities and positions at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus, PA. In addition to his wife, Elsie, John is survived by sons John Guignet, Jr, husband of Sarah, of Center Valley and Dennis Guignet, husband of Karen, of Allentown. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Dennis Guignet, Jr., husband of Maria, Robert Guignet, husband of Katelyn, Jaclyn Thorpe, wife of Kyle, John G. Guignet, III, Alexis Lecco- Guignet, Jennifer Cika and Jessica Archer, wife of Bruce and great-grandchildren, Alec, Alexa, Madison, Maci, Emilia, George, Delilah, and Delaney. John was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Alta Guignet, Betty Wogan, Paul Guignet, Reinhold Guignet and his son Donald Guignet. Services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA 18049. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. A calling hour will begin at 9:30 AM.
