Janet L. Tomasko

Janet Lee Tomasko, 82, of Macungie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born July 12, 1943 in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Lillian S. (Leh) Heiney. She enjoyed a long career of 25 years at Air Products and Chemicals in Trexlertown. Janet was an amazing, loving mother and grandmother, always putting others before herself. She loved her grandchildren dearly and prioritized attending all their major events. Over the years, she cheered at their numerous sporting events - lacrosse, track, soccer, cross-country, and baseball. She was the ultimate supporter. She adored and was incredibly proud of every one of them. Later in life during summers, she enjoyed relaxing in Avalon, NJ, where Janet celebrated many of her July birthdays alongside her family. You would often find her relaxing by the pool, having her favorite crumb buns, or enjoying her pinot grigio on special occasions. Every September, she started preparing for the year-end holidays just to ensure everything was perfect. Her special stuffing recipe was a Thanksgiving staple, and her chocolate chip cookies were a hot commodity during Christmas. She had a great love of the arts, such as going to plays, musicals, and concerts, and during her spare time, it wouldn’t be a surprise to find her playing cards with friends or family. Early this year, her malignancy was diagnosed. It was fast and aggressive, yet she was brave and tough, fighting as she had fought all adversity during her life. Her children, grandchildren, and close friends will miss her immensely. Her steadfast loving presence will be forever missed, but she will never be forgotten. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Tomasko Dooley (Brian) of St. Davids, PA, son Ronald T. Tomasko (Joyce) of Naples, FL, and five grandchildren Jackson, Maxwell and Margaret Dooley, Alexander and Nicholas Tomasko. She was predeceased by her brother Gilbert F., and sisters Irene F. Bartholomew, Geraldine L. Muhr, Louise A. Heiney. A church service to celebrate her life will be held at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown, on May 29 at 1pm. A luncheon to follow at Lehigh Country Club, 2319 S Cedar Crest Blvd, Allentown, PA 18103.
