Mary E. Raabe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary E. (Bonsignore) Raabe, 103, of Whitehall, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 6th. She was the widow of the late Augustus C. Raabe Jr., who passed away in 2019 after 70 years of marriage. Born in Hoboken NJ, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Catanese) Bonsignore. She worked as a secretary for various companies in NYC, before she met Augustus and then moved to the Lehigh Valley after his retirement. She was a member of ST. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Allentown where she was a member of the Senior Group. Mary was active in the community over the years, serving as a Girl Scout Leader, Head Start Volunteer, a member of the Lehigh Valley Couturiere Society, and most enjoyed being with her grandchildren and sewing outfits for them. Mary is survived by daughters Marilyn A. Cornell and husband James of Upper Macungie, Susan M. Kimmel and husband Richard of Wappingers Falls NY, Judy R. Kelechava and husband Kurt of Bethlehem PA, a brother Patrick Bonsignore of IL, grandchildren Andrew Cornell, Alison Cornell, Matthew Cornell and wife Nicole, Sarah Kimmel and companion Shane Brannen, Jeffrey Kimmel, Erik Kelechava and fiancé Jillian Chiaro, Alex Kelechava and wife Amanda, Brad Kelechava and wife Raksha, and great grandchild Hailey Brannen. She was pre-deceased by a sister Rose Bonsignore and brothers Salvatore and Joseph Bonsignore. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11th at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, 160 Erie Ave., Philadelphia PA 19134.
