Leonard R. Hein, 74, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday, April 26th at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. He was the husband of Susan M. (Liguori) Hodgin-Hein. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Kern) Hein. He last worked as Director of Security for U.S. Security Associates in Allentown. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, attaining the rank of SGT., and served in Vietnam. He was a member of Jordan U.C.C. Church in Allentown, and also was a member of V.F.W. Post #7294 in Egypt and American Legion Post #576 in Allentown. Leonard was a drummer for many years, playing in various bands, last playing for the Majestics, and also enjoyed researching and working with firearms. Surviving in addition to his wife Susan is stepson Jamey C. Hodgin and son Scott Hein, both of Allentown, stepdaughter Jenny D. Hodgin of Allentown and daughter Stacey Hein of Breinigsville, Step Grandchildren Alijah S. Hodgin and Companion Darius Wilson and Tiannah Burnham, Grandson’s Derek Hein and Phillip Hein, Step Greatgrandchildren Jayceon Wilson and Lyric LaTorre. He was pre-deceased by a sister Alice. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 2nd at 1:30 p.m. at Jordan U.C.C Church, 1837 Church Rd., Allentown PA 18104. Interment with military honors will be held after services at Jordan U.C.C. Cemetery, Allentown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown PA 18102.
