James R. LeVan James R. LeVan

James R. LeVan, 68, of Allen Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28 under the loving care of his family and the staff at Fellowship Manor of Whitehall. He and his wife, Lucia, shared over 45 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, Jim was the son of the late Mearle (Slough) Heller and Kermit LeVan, and was a graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School and Lehigh County Community College. He had a successful career as a leader in Sales and Information Technology for a number of Lehigh Valley companies. Jim was passionately committed to improve public education, which he demonstrated by serving 11 years on the Allentown School Board, many years as its President. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed finding new and interesting ways to use technology in everyday life. Above all else, Jim was a consummate family man, truly personifying the idea of “family first” and setting an excellent example for all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving family: wife, Lucia (Charles); children, Jill and James; and sister and brother-in-law Judy and Leonard Ruch. His first grandchild is expected in August.
